The tool is not the magic.

A wand does not direct anything until you direct with it. A cauldron does not transform simply because it is a cauldron. A crystal does not understand your Intention because you placed it on an altar.

I choose a tool because its nature, history, symbolism or physical action helps me hold the Intention and direct the Force.

Ask less often, “What is this tool for?”
Ask instead: “What can I do with it?”
